In Luke 3, we see wild man preaching untarnished, unsweetened truth of sin and for repentance to "prepare the way for the Lord.'' The preaching of Jesus' cousin, John the Baptist, gripped the hearts of many with conviction and they sought direction on how they ought to turn in repentance and change their ways. Yet others, like Herod the tetrarch, responded in fury for the rebuke of his evil ways and threw John into prison.
