Much of our lives are ruled by expectations; expectations that come from other people, expectations that we put on ourselves. Many of these expectations are unnamed and unnecessary, yet we try to measure up to them anyways.
This Sunday, Pastor Lindsay preached on Luke 6:1-11 where we see Jesus breaking the expectations the Pharisees set around the Sabbath. These extra rules and man-made expectations went beyond God's design for the Sabbath.
Let us take time this week to examine our hearts and the words we keep on them. Do we have words of unreasonable expectations that we hold over ourselves and others? Or do we have the Word of God on our hearts? Words like 'love' and 'faithfulness' as Proverbs 3:3 tells us to keep.
